Senior Head of Search

DIGITECH is looking to hire a new employee for the role of Senior Head of Organic Search. This position is fully remote, however the candidate must live in Texas. We offer competitive salaries, 2 weeks PTO, 10 paid holidays, Safe Harbor 401k where we pay 3% of your salary into the 401k whether you contribute or not after vesting period, Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance, and a laid back culture. Our agency celebrated it’s 10 year anniversary last October, however we are a small team by intention. You will report directly to our CEO who personally oversees the SEO side of the business. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, has a positive attitude, can get jobs done with minimal supervision after training, has good problem solving skills, and is a team player.

Roles & Responsibilities

On Page SEO

  • Conduct keyword research, create keyword groups and write meta titles / descriptions.
  • Complete 360 degree on-page optimization working with our development team to implement items that cannot be done in WordPress Admin.
  • Writing appropriate schema
  • Conducting full technical audits of various websites, discovering issues and implementing fixes.
  • Working with our content writers to ensure content is optimized, and implemented into the website with correct keyword optimization & density.
  • Setup and configuration of various WordPress plugins including WordPress SEO by Yoast.
  • Creating complete SEO strategies for more complex clients including roadmaps for clients with dozens of locations, working with our design, content and development team to ensure the strategy is implemented correctly for both new website builds and reworking existing websites.
  • Utilizing various pieces of software to monitor ongoing on-page performance – must be extremely experienced with Ahrefs.
  • Setting up keyword tracking and conversion tracking in our monitoring software Agency Analytics and in GA.
  • Setup and configuration of CallRail for various clients.
  • Setup and configuration of a variety of other tasks related to the website as needed, working with our internal team where relevant.
  • Implementing E-A-T and ensuring that client’s are fully in compliance.

Off Page SEO

  • You must bring to the table your own off-page linkbuilding strategy to qualify for this position.
  • In addition, you will be working with our current contractors to perform linkbuilding on the following modalities: HARO, Outreach, Paid Guest Posts.
  • Most of our clients are Medical – as such, we utilize doctorate level clinicians in the practices to do HARO links. You would be responsible for coordinating between our HARO team and the MD’s to ensure they give approval on their featured quotes in a timely manner.
  • Placing monthly backlink orders for each client every month, monitoring all linkbuilding orders to ensure matching DR + Link Placement as Dofollow.
  • Conducting research on various backlink opportunities, checking quality of the links DR, Traffic, Spam Score, General Quality.
  • Monitoring GMB performance, building citations, performing technical GMB work to ensure top rankings. We currently have a top tier vendor for GMB, but we may bring it in house eventually.
  • Managing client reviews – checking in with the client to ensure that they are getting an adequate amount of reviews monthly to their GMB and/or other platforms where relevant.
  • Running various other off-page solutions such as Social Signals, and other types of link building TBD.
  • Managing and monitoring Yext for duplicate directory listings, and setting up Yext / Bright Local for new clients.
  • Monitoring all Google algorithm update trends and latest news, staying completely up to date on the last SEO related trends so that we can adjust our campaigns accordingly to what is happening with the algorithm.
  • Managing ongoing SEO performance.


Client Facing

  • Running monthly meetings with client’s to discuss performance, either alone or with our CEO depending upon the client.
  • Coordinating various other tasks with the client via email / loom video as various needs arise.
  • Coordinating with Client’s clinical team for various linkbuilding efforts.


Typically, we keep between 15-25 clients maximum, usually on that lower end. Our clients are all high end, we do not do any lower cost SEO campaigns which allows us to keep a smaller number of clients, but have budget to deliver real, powerful results.
